Everything is pooled per workspace. Connecting the same app in two hosts doesn’t double the allowance—or the bill.

Actions keep your app useful.

A completed data operation, such as reading a list or saving a record, uses one action. A list returning 50 records is still one operation.

Failed operations and recognized replays: 0 units.

Managed data holds your records.

The allowance covers your saved app records, including saved AI results. It measures serialized UTF-8 business data, not infrastructure or logs.

Record storage, rather than file hosting. MB and GB are decimal.

Creator AI helps you build.

Use it to prepare an app or ask for edits. Review a maximum quote before execution; measured usage is charged at 2× the versioned published provider rate.

Creator-AI allowances are KernelApps service credit, not cash or a guaranteed number of builds. Your ChatGPT and Claude subscriptions are separate. AI running inside published apps is a future capability.

Can I sign up now?

Yes. Create a free KernelApps account without a card. During early access, manual app creation is included and AI features are activated by invitation. Paid subscriptions and top-ups are not open for purchase yet. Your account starts on Explore; you will choose and confirm any paid upgrade separately when it becomes available.

Does connecting ChatGPT and Claude count as two apps?

No. One app connected to both hosts uses one live-app slot. Actions, managed data and creator-AI allowances are pooled across your workspace, rather than multiplied by app or host. Each host has its own connection and access requirements.

What counts as one successful action?

An action is one completed, authorized business operation, such as reading a list, creating a record or updating it. A list request returning 50 records is one action. A conversation that calls several tools can use several actions. Failed or rejected operations, recognized replays, sign-in, discovery and UI assets do not use action units. A fresh data read or refresh can use an action.

What does the creator-AI allowance pay for?

It pays for AI-assisted app creation and editing inside KernelApps. Usage is charged at 2× the versioned published provider reference rate, with a maximum quote before execution. The allowance is service credit, not cash or a promised number of builds. Manual editing does not use it. It does not pay for your conversations in ChatGPT or Claude; AI running inside your published apps is a separate future capability.

How do AI top-ups and unused allowance work?

At launch, manual $10 creator-AI top-ups will add $10 of purchased service credit. Purchased credit does not expire. The Explore $0.50 allowance is once per owner; Starter and Pro included allowances reset each paid billing period and do not roll over. Included credit is used before purchased credit. There are no automatic top-ups. Failed app preparation has no customer AI debit; an unresolved provider outcome can keep its reservation held until reconciled.

What happens when I reach a limit?

There are no automatic overage charges. New quota-consuming operations stop at the applicable limit. Your data is retained, with export and recovery access. At the storage limit, deletion and storage-reducing updates remain available. You can pause a live app to free a slot without deleting its records or connections.

Are ChatGPT or Claude subscriptions included?

No. These prices cover KernelApps only. You need your own host accounts and any access required by ChatGPT or Claude. Private connections are separate from public marketplace listings, which follow each host’s own review process.

How will billing and cancellation work?

Starter and Pro are monthly subscriptions in USD, before applicable tax. Paid plans renew until canceled. Cancellation and downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period; upgrades require confirmation of the displayed prorated quote. Paddle will handle checkout and payment support when paid plans open. Cancellation prevents future renewal and does not automatically refund a past payment; see our Refund Policy.
